Default Screen Resolution Off in Windows 7

I can start Boxee on my Windows 7 machine, but the screen resolution is way off. It looks like it is zoomed in, so everything is way too large. I have to keep scrolling around to see the menu picks, and some I can't see at all. I can't even see how to close it.

When I try to play most videos, it just goes off into space, and I have to close it by using the Windows 7 taskbar. I did get the CNN feed to work, but anything that lasts more than a few seconds never comes up.

I have an ATI Radeon 3200 Graphics card.

This is really, really terrible.

I've managed to change it to 720p, but now it flickers like crazy and is unwatchable. The original resolution was 1920x1080 (full screen).

I have the exact same problem using Vista and an ATI HD Radeon 3450 set to 1920x1080.

I've found that if I bump the resolution down to 800x600, launch boxee, then switch the resolution back to 1920x1080, I'll be able to view it in an 800x600 window. Not very usable, sure, but it gives me the chance to play with the new alpha.

I have the same problem if I try to run XBMC at 1920x1080 as well. I was hoping this bug would have been fixed in the boxee alpha...

Try this :

right click on app, choose properties, click on compatibility mode, check the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" box.

Thanks, Chowmein, it is now working correctly for me, too.

Except now I can't ever connect to any actual content, but that's another post.
