Thread: Set folder as TV or Movies

Default Set folder as TV or Movies

I'd like to see a feature implemented where you could assign certain folders(and all files within) as either TV Shows or Movies. I don't really have the patience to rename all my files so that Boxee recognizes them before I watch them.

Currently if I have shows and movies that aren't named in just the right way, I have to browse through folders just like I would when opening them in VLC. Boxee is great for internet videos and such, but local media seems to get no love.

YES! I 2nd this one! I have almost 400 movies all named by the IMDB id number(example - tt32938.avi)...worked great with media portal, and before that beyond media...but with boxee...i would have to recognize them all manually...and there is now way i am doing that or renaming all 400 movies.

    Also 2nd!
This also goes well with my topic for adding category's.

Also; If you have multiple external (or internal for that matter) HD's with Movies and TV Shows you can just name the particular folder Movies or TV Shows and boxee will merge them

I'd like to see this too. It would avoid the situation where you have TV episodes confused with movies of a similar name until you've manually recognised them all.

Default I want to see this too

I really need this feature to be implemented! your scaring away users!

I love the way IMDB info is pulled for fims and tv shows, but i want to select that a folder contains tv shows or films myself, as they are often not named in your naming system. cant we just select it ourselfs and then just let imdb identify what it can and leave the rest blank but still playable.... its already done in the music section, everything is available and you identify what you can. it should be the same for movie and tv!

I love the Apps and online stuff but you need to get this sorted out befor i can start using Boxee or recommend the Boxee Box! please please set this up!

Several aspects mentioned here and fixes to the IMDB database are coming along in future builds.
