a basic question

Hi

do I have to package my app and put it into a repository before Boxee can see it ?

I created the app directly under ~/.boxee/UserData/apps/. And I followed the instructions of building my first app, but it is not showing up in Boxee...

my platform is Ubuntu Linux

great question. you'll have to add it. so try following these steps:

1. settings > media sources > manually add source
2. type in the name of your app in the first box.
3. in the second box type: app://[your app folder name]/

your app folder name should be the same are your app-id, also don't include [ ]

4. choose the media type
5. click 'add' and your ready to go
