at the moment there is no support for x86_64.
    see here: http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=839

however, you can download the sources and give it a whirl.
if you got it up a running, i'm sure other would be grateful for instructions.

i run boxee 0.9.20 on: ubuntu 9.10, windows xp sp3 (virtual machine), windows 7 and a neuros link hacked to all hell.

what super powers does a 'super mod' have? the 'super ban'... that, and laser vision.

I know I would be grateful.

I was planning to install the new 64-bit version of Mint on my computer, but decided to hold off since boxee isn't available for 64-bit.

Well, I don't actually own any 64 bit hardware, but I do believe you could do a chroot enviroment for boxee... I'm fairly sure that until they release a 64 bit version, the source will be no aide to you, as there are proprietary components to boxee that don't get compiled... so that would be no help :\
