Default Creating Boxee Apps for Sites that are not yours

Has anyone talked about building apps for sites that are not yours?

I can understand grabbing a feed from a site and pushing it into a Boxee app, but what about building an App for a site without feeds via parsing of the html or discovering the calls/returns they are making?

Is it ok to build a boxee app for a site you have no affiliation with? Should a developer try to get the blessing of the site owners? Is it up to "example.com" to make their own boxee app or could someone from the community do it because they would like that content on boxee, and get the 10 ft experience?

Just wondering if anyone else has thought about this at all.

i think best will be to reach out to the site owner. from our experience most site owners will be excited when you show them the app and will give you their feedback, blessings and maybe even access to additional content

    Hey

I too have been wondering this. What if the developer wanted to create an app to show say live flash streams from a tv networks web site. How would this play out?

I'm aware that Hulu pulled out of a partnership and seem to be trying to prevent their content from playing on Boxee. Though surly not every company would act in the same manner. If a site offers online tv feeds, then using Boxee's built in browser to stream them shouldn't really be a problem. As to them its the same as if someone watches it through Firefox etc.. Correct?
