Nvidia GeForce 7300 gt. I tried updating and when I do I get an error when I reboot and I have to revert back to the old driver. I also tried installing the driver through the terminal as advised in another post but when I hit ctrl alt f2 It takes me to another terminal that ask for my log in and password then it tell me its not correct.

Default Having exactly the same problem

I'm having exactly the same problem. Running boxee results in the following:

    ./run-boxee-desktop
25/05/09 14:03:07#DEBUG#bxbgprocess.cpp:142(Start)#bg process initialized. 1 worker threads created.
    25/05/09 14:03:07#DEBUG#bxcurl.cpp:63(Initialize)#curl initialized. version <7.18.2>

    Running Boxee test...
    * Enable platform firectoriesAnd the log goes to... /tmp/jim-
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow)
Serial number of failed request: 21
Current serial number in output stream: 22
    Boxee: asked to stop
    Boxee: already stopped
BXBGProcess, Resolver Audio Processor, asked to stop, this = 0x8fa38e0
BXBGProcess, Resolver Video Processor, asked to stop, this = 0x8fa3874
BXBGProcess, , asked to stop, this = 0x8fa339c
BXBGProcess, Application Messenger, asked to stop, this = 0x8f0e7e4
BXBGProcess, Application Messenger, asked to stop, this = 0x8f0e7e4

    Output of desired cmmands is:

    jim@HPWonder:/opt/boxee$ glxinfo | grep direct
    direct rendering: Yes
    jim@HPWonder:/opt/boxee$ lspci | grep -l vga
    jim@HPWonder:/opt/boxee$ less /etc/X11/xorg.conf | grep Driver

Full output of lspci and contents of xorg.conf are:

    cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf
    # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using

i dont think your using the nvidia driver....... theres nothing about it in your xorg.conf. this is what mine says:

    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Configured Video Device"
    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "NoLogo" "True"

if you did, how did you install it? through restricted drivers?
