    Default Asus eee PC

Has anyone tried the Windows version on the Asus eee PC? I just picked up a model 1000HE. Pretty cool except for XP. Is the Windows version of boxee compatible with XP? If so, I'd love to download and try it.

I am running Boxee on an Acer Aspire One Netbook with great results. Indexing takes a little while to kick in (I left it running all night, then it cascaded in FAST!) - as with the Mac & Linux version, Music management leaves MUCH to be desired, but hey - it's a pre-alpha! But it's still better than Elisa or XBMC Media Center 9.04 "Babylon". Running WinXP SP#, 1gb RAM, 160 GB HDD, 1.86 GHz Atom processor. Movies look great, sort of like a portable DVD player. Hope this helps.

I run Boxee successfully on a similar machine, the Dell Mini 9 (1.6Ghz Atom, 1GB, 16GB SSD, XP).

It works well, but seems to benefit from going into task manager (ctrl+alt+del), right click on the Boxee.exe process and give it a "high" or "above normal" priority. I also do this with any of the sub processes that Boxee spawns when it plays back video.

Other than that, I get good playback, even of 720p HD files over the network.

For the record, none of my video players would play 720p smoothly until I installed the K-Lite Codec pack

I have boxee running on the B206 eee PC and it works a charm. I've just got a bluetooth PS3 remote (unofficial one with keyboard) which I'm going to try and get working.

    Default Nope, no sound

In answer to the original question - does Boxee work on the ASUS eeePC...

Nope - no sound on Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex, which uses the ALSA sound driver. The video works fine, but no sound!

this is the windows forum, the question was if boxee worked on xp.

also, boxee works fine on the eee with 8.10 and 9.04; just remove pulseaudio.
