I can't seem to get Boxee to recognize Stargate SG-1. I think the dash maybe throwing it off. The files are named as follows:
Stargate SG-1.S08E03.Lockdown.avi
Any suggestions?

Try Stargate.SG1.SXXEXX....
Turns out the hyphen works fine in the file name, but it won't be automagically recognized either way. Must be a bug with the hyphen. It is possible to get it recognized manually. When it asks for the name of the show, type "Stargate SG1" without the hyphen. Only then will it find the correct name in the search results.
Yeah I'm having all sorts of problems trying to get my ripped X-Files seasons into Boxee... I've tried naming them everything from X-Files, to XFiles, to The X-Files. None of them worked. And yes, I am working with the standard naming conventions that I should:
Example filename: The X-Files.S01E01.Pilot.avi
I'm really bummed about this too... I wish Boxee would have more support for recognizing a wider array of TV show names (and making the Updating (a) screen actually show helpful output or a debug console).
:-)
I got no comment when I said this in the sticky, so I'll ask again...
Has any idea been floated to allow us to put in a TheTVDB/IMDB show ID into the file name? That could fix a TON of problems with recognition I'd think...
Not sure if it's been officially asked for... but that's a GREAT idea. Seriously - that would fix everything! That - or someone should build an app somehow to allow you to navigate thetvdb within boxee and flag your shows as you see them on the site.
