Playback controls don't work

Boxee 9.11.5777 on Kubuntu 8.04.2, Pentium 4 2.4 GHz.

When I can get videos to play (a separate issue), the only playback control that works is Stop. None of the other controls respond at all, including volume controls.

Not sure what other info would be helpful, please ask.

Log file is attached, in case it is helpful.

are you playing the movies over smb or locally ? what are the format of the files?

I generally just watch TV show episodes over the Internet. I've played videos from CBS, WB, and others, it doesn't seem to matter.

That's a good question, though. I have no local videos. I may try to find one to test that.

Update: Playback controls work fine on local audio files.
