Amazon video on demand?

I wonder if Boxee is avoiding adding AoD due to them being deeper in bed with Netflix as of late(see dedicated Neflix button).

recently purchased Boxee box. disappointed to see no Amazon on Demand yet

i wonder if Amazon charges a lot of money for it - sounds unlikely!

Sent a request to Amazon to work with the Boxee team to support Amazon VOD. Here's the reply (received within 15 mins.):

I understand you'd like to stream the Amazon Instant Videos on the Boxee.

As per your request I've forwarded your suggestion to our Amazon Instant Video development team saying that you'd like us to include to Boxee in the AIV compatible devices list.

The development team will carefully review your suggestion and we'll consider your feedback as we plan our future improvements.

Customer feedback like yours is very important in helping us continue to improve the experience of watching our digital videos.

I suggest that interested parties also reach out to Amazon and promote.

This is a canned reply that Amazon have been giving for 3 years. I think there are non-technical legal reasons for AVoD not being on Boxee for over 3 years now and counting.

I just begrudgingly bought a Sony SMP-N200 for less than $70 with AVoD... yet another box to manage but at that price point I might have to completely give up any plans to add more Boxee's.

I too would like to have AVOD on the boxee. Especially when Amazon is purchasing the rights and making deals for an increasing amount of content providers that rival its competitors.

Out of curiousity, what happens i fyo ulogin to amazon through the Boxee Browser and attempt to watch something?
