    Unhappy Error:6

    Hey Folks,
Anyone encounter this?: "ERROR:XBMC/BOXEE EXITED WITH STATUS: 6"

I was going through the paces of setting up the AppleTV and when I attempted to access another source for video I get this error alert.

Just curious. I had to manually power down the AppleTV to get out of the screen.

This just in: "ERROR:XBMC/BOXEE EXITED WITH STATUS: 11"

Got this error moving around while NPR audio was playing. I was trying to backtrack and turn off the visual screensaver of Boxee.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    hi pkeenan

    thanks for the report..
as this is an alpha version it can crash from time to time ...if you could send us your debug logs as well as flow how this occurred and your setup as well as the atv version(2.2 installed with atvflash etc..) we would appreciate this..

    debug logs:
to get them - you have to "ssh" to the machine.
    the log is under "~/Library/Logs/boxee.log".
you'll need to "scp" the log to your machine and send it

    cheers

    Default ssh login

Unfortunately for me I don't have the programmer gusto that the majority of you folks have and thus should be considered a n00bie. But that's not to say I won't at least try to get these logs out to you.

I went down the road of trying to login to the Apple TV and got as far as the password. After a bit of research I did the following:

    In Terminal I typed:

    ssh frontrow@appletv.local [10.101.248.###]
    and got back:

Welcome to the AppleTV (via atv-usbcreator)
    frontrow@appletv.local's password:

I typed in "frontrow" for the password but got:

bash: line 1: [10.101.248.###]: command not found
    jim-bobs-computer:~ jimbob$

If I type in anything but "frontrow" it gives me three tries and then says:

    Permission denied (publickey,password).

    Maybe it's my cologne.

    Default Boxee Flow

Well, after much dicking around yesterday I had to do the dreaded "FACTORY INSTALL" Unfortunately I just couldn't get out of the ERROR mode. I continued to get ERROR'S 10 and 11. I had read that you shouldn't try to reinstall BOXEE twice so I'm back to the drawing board.

As of this morning I was able to launch both XBMC / Boxee. Unfortunately now I can't get in to Boxee. I get: Error:XBMC/Boxee exited with status: 10

Maybe I'm setting things up incorrectly in terms of the Network Server.

    This is my Install

    AppleTV v2.2
    XBMC Atlantis Beta 2
    Boxee Alpha 0.9.3383
    XBMC/Boxee Launcher 0.2

I will stay in tune on this particular thread to report anything new and keep track of the flow. For now though I may have to go back for a reinstall, factory style!

    hi
before trying the dreaded factory re-install try to remove all shares and also from settings>videos disable "automatically generate thumbs for cover art" and see if this helps..

    Default No dice

Can no longer access Boxee. I get up to the Login, the screen flashes and then I get "Error: XBMC/Boxee exited with status: 10" I can "menu" out of it back to the main menu but that's it. Same goes for XBMC.

I'm going on for the factory specs.

I get the error quite often "Error: XBMC/Boxee exited with status: 6
Hit menu to return." Usually when I am in torrent downloads or backing in and out of the video menu's too many times.
I have included the boxee log in my attachments.

I am on a 40 GB ATV with vs 2.3
    Boxee 0.9.6.4578
    XBMCLauncher 0.8
    XBMC 8.10 bf1:Atlantis
NitoTV .0.6.3 ( with added osx combo packs for usb harddrive support, i have 500gb WD drive attached)
    CouchSurfer0.6(2.x)
    Sapphire 1.0b6.4 (664)
    Software menu .741
    ATVFiles 479

All installed off of the atvusb-creator patchstick, I think all are up to date and current. Hope this helps development.

    Tom

    Followup...I have found updates for the following and installed;

    XBMCLauncher 2.2
    Sapphire 1.0b6.5

I will see how the system reacts but any feedback is still welcome.
