Post MaximumPC News articles about Boxee

I didn't see anyone talking about it but a few days ago I got the new Maximum PC magazine which focuses on building a HTPC (Home Theater PC) step-by-Step. Anyway they have about 3 different articles on Boxee, it seems the they really loved it but were under the impression that the windows alpha would be public by the time it reach the news stands..

This is in the May 2009 issue. a very good read.. and great pictures of Boxee too.

I couldn't find the articles on their website but here are the titles and page numbers...

"A Boxee Tour" on page 34
"Windows and Boxee" on page 30
"Hulu Pulls Content from Boxee, TV.com" on page 9

However on the website it does list

Boxee Announces New API Framework and Hulu Workaround

    Default aw

I love to see Boxee in mainstream publications. But I really hope that there is some mention of XBMC, because if you ask me its just wrong not to mention that much of Boxee's code is based on an even more stable cross platform media center. P
*Please do not take that as insults, it's just the simple truth that XBMC reaches pretty rock solid stable releases every 6 months, and Boxee has been in alpha for some time, and as far as I can tell will continue to be that way for a while.*

I am getting that magazine tonight and checking it out.

Way to go ALL devs who made that possible on both sides!

ahh i dunno if its too necessary... unix (and variations of) reach out to one group of people yet apple's os wont flaunt that they too are just another variation of unix...

awesome to see boxee getting some attention! more developers are all too welcome with the new api, im waiting patiently! :P

    Smile It's in there...

XBMC is mentioned in the same issue.

    article

"XBMC: An Entertainment Alternative" on page 32

The article draws some comparisons between Boxee and XBMC and it does read like they like XBMC. But they obviously loved Boxees' slick interface and features more than the current version of XBMC.

Don't get me wrong I do like XBMC and I very much wish that Boxee will adopt some of the sorting features that XBMC has for it's library. But then again this post is more about the word getting out to everyone about Boxee so that more people can jump on board and support Boxee, Right? at at least that the way I feel!!

    Thats cool.
I don't want to turn this thread into a XBMC vs Boxee thing, I just wanted to say my 2 cents.
And as far as features, you gotta keep in mind lots where stripped away in boxee, lots where added too.
As far as a social media center goes, XBMC cant touch boxee. Boxee has some damn talented devs that are doing amazing things. But as far as a media center itself goes I think the functionality and the feature set of XBMC is above the rest. But in the end if you ask me Boxee and XBMC are pretty much the same anyway and the devs are close and all that so what the hell matters, they both are doing great.
    Good job for everyone involved!

BTW- I went looking for the magazine and everyone where I live still have last months issue
