boxee file storage

I'm new to boxee and am trying to see if I'd like to use it in addition to (or as a replacement for) iTunes. My main concern is that I don't know whether or not boxee will make copies of my media files, ala the iTunes library system (i.e. when you add media to iTunes it creates a copy in the iTunes->iTunes Library folder). This would make or break my experience with the program, because the last thing I want is multiple copies of the same file all over my (non-external) hard drive. Thanks for any and all replies.

You just point Boxee to the directory of your music. It wont make a copy of it in some random folder. I would have killed all my HD space if it did.
