I have a 2nd gen 17 MBP (ver before current) running Boxee Alpha (problem existed on pervious ver as well) connected to a Sharp Aquos via DVI to HDMI connector. Audio goes through a mini to TOSLINK optical adapter to a Pioneer Home theater rig.
First problem is Getting the thing to display right. Currently I close MBP, then connect DVI to HDMI cable and press a key on a external keyboard connected vie USB. (READ Royal PITA but workable)
Second problem is that when I start to watch something via HULU, NETFLIX or TED channel, the video and audio are all out of sync. I know there is the audio offset setting but this is another major PITA as you have to adjust then view, adjust then view. Seemingly endlessly. This seems like a very unwieldy process and I am relying on the collective hive mind of you guys to point whatever flaw I hopefully have in my process and/or rig.
HELP!!!
UPDATE: The problem does not occur with the same rig setup running the NETFLIX VOA service via Safari
