ION isn't going to be the cat's meow unless boxee/ffmpeg start supporting dxva. Even then, it won't be the ultimate hd player unless they can incorporate an auto-sync for 24p content. Awesome idea for the online features of boxee though, and maybe a great secondary unit to an NMT.

Speaking of Shuttle PCs, did you see the Shuttle PC with Blu-Ray Drive at http://www.getashuttle.com/index.php...hk=1&Itemid=75 ?

Now that looks like a cool Boxee machine !

I am looking at either getting an ION based PC, or an Eeebox 208. I can't wait! My laptop and it's shitty frame rates are driving me nuts =(

Well, I tried the new Mac Mini here. Too slow compared to running Boxee on a PC with Windows 7. Took it back to Fry's for a refund.

Guess I'll have to keep watching for a small footprint PC for the TV room !

Hmm, the EeeBox B208 sounds interesting. Is the RAM upgradable from 1GB? And does it have an HDMI out for audio and video?

Yeah, it has HDMI. I assume it can be upgraded to larger RAM sizes.
