Why are the repos so out of date?

The current build for Intrepid according to the page at http://app.boxee.tv/download is 0.9.8.4826.

Yet, the version actually available in the repository is older, it is 0.9.7.xxxx.

Moreover, the most recent version is actually newer than listed, it is 0.9.10.xxxx.

What gives?

The Linux version is trailing behind. There is already plenty of discussion of this on these forums.

Yes, but even the version that is indicated as current for Intrepid on the web page isn't actually in the repo. If it just needs to be compiled and uploaded, why not get somebody from the community who has an interest to do that sort of menial stuff?

yea, where can we get the latest available package outside the repos? the version showing on the website is 0.9.8... and only 0.9.7... available in the repo

And as I said... don't be afraid to offload menial tasks like that to interested members of the community. It could really help your sanity.
