Ubuntu 8.10
Dell Inspiron 2600
I installed boxee on the above laptop. After starting up boxee, I had to leave the computer for a little while, and it went into some version of sleep mode. Nothing I tried brought it out of sleep mode, so I had to shut down the computer.
Now, when I start it up, the entire screen is "indented" substantially. (In the Xorg log there is the line "Setting screen physical size to 270 x 203". That sounds like the size being displayed, as opposed to the 1024 x 768 I was expecting.)
This appears to be something that has been switched at the hardware level, as the initial "Dell" splash screen on the computer is displayed this way.
The GNOME display never is displayed, although I can log in (blindly -- there's no display), and I get the startup sound from Ubuntu.
My question is, therefore, how do I readjust the screen setting back to whatever it used to be? (I see nothing in the BIOS settings that allows me to do this.)
Thanks,
