Question When will Jaunty be supported?

I'm having a heck of a time with Intrepid working with my Asus P5Q with an Nvidia 8500 card. Without the card, I get tons of video tearing from the onboard graphics. With drivers loaded for the NVidia, the TV randomly goes black every few seconds. I've tried everything I can find on google (sync to black, refresh rate, driver version 180) and nothing seems to work. So, my brand spanking new boxee box is useless. I'm hoping with an updated Gnome, kernel, and such from Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04), things will work out of the box. I also tried an Nvidia 9500 series card with same results.

So, my question is: How long after Jaunty is released will it be supported?

From the opposite point of view, also, I would like to mention that Ubuntu8.04 is a LTS release. The box I run Boxee on is 8.04 and I'd like to keep it running 8.04 throughout the 3-year support period. This box also runs MythTV which is the only television in the household so I don't like to break it as sometimes happens during upgrades (my family would not be too happy).

So this is a request that when the next alpha comes out that Hardy Heron remains supported.

    Thanks!

I can't understand why you guys don't begin support for new ubuntu
releases when the alphas go beta.
The only changes made after the import freeze are bug fixes and on
very rare occasions upstream updates for security or major fixes.

It seems to me like the usual half-assed "linux support when its ready"
If you support a platform have developers doing at least some testing
on OS betas so that the app doesn't always immediately break with every
update or upgrade. Bugs are sure to show after release, but to have a
situation where you have a significant period of time after the OS goes gold
where you have to wait for the developers to catch up is very annoying.

In particular in the Linux world where a new version is just an "apt-get dist-upgrade"
or similar away. On Ubuntu a message offering the option to upgrade appears
    on the day of release.

Maybe Team Boxee will refund your purchase price if you are unhappy with thier service.

Oops forgot, sarcasm doesn't work on the internet.

I love boxee. And yeah I'd be more than willing to pay/donate if the option existed.

Because I like boxee I want to see it succeed and improve because of that success.
I certainly don't have all the answers, All I'm doing is pointing out a situation
that is frustrating to some users, suggesting a possible solution and addressing
a possible item of concern regarding that solution.

XBMC already works perfectly with jaunty and since Boxee is in large part
XBMC with bells on and considering that the symptoms suggest minor fixes
I really can't see what the problem is...

If I had the source I'd be busy fixing these issues myself.
I suggest that, in future, you hold off on the puerile & poorly spelled
"sarcasm", commune with that disordered grey matter in your skull and recognize an attempt at constructive criticism and honest comment.
