Default Windows Boxee: Dropping Frames all over the place

This has only happened the last few days, but suddenly my core 2 duo laptop (xp) is dropping frames when steaming video from all channels. I'd guess it's down to 15-20 per second. Watchable if determined, but certainly noticeable. Any thoughts?

what are you doing in the background while boxee is playing a video? *cough*vista's indexing*cough*

it just sounds like you dont have enough resources to play it
