    Default Boxee will not detect network shares

    Hello everyone,

    I just purchased an AppleTV and installed boxee. The app itself works fine however I am not able to detect any shared network drives. I have a PC running windows XP where I have shared several folders of video and music. I have also set up a workgroup called mshome. When I search for drives using boxee, it does not find anything. I've turned off all the firewalls on my PC but to no avail. I did extensive searching online and in this forum but cannot find anything that helps.

    Any ideas?

    Did you tried to name your workgroup with "WORKGROUP", that's the Boxee workgroup default name.

    Default no luck

    Thanks for the suggestion, that partially worked. I renamed my network to WORKGROUP and boxee did find it but it returns "Loading Error - Failed to retrieve data".

    thanks for the quick response, Mike. I tried manually adding an smb share with no luck. I don't have a password set so I just did smb://ip, i also tried smb:\\ip, smb:\\ip\folder, and smb://ip/folder. None of these worked. I'm thinking it's a problem with my windows network on my desktop computer because boxee will pick up my corporate domain for my work computer just fine. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong

    You're not typing in the "smb" etc. are you?
    You just need to type in the name of the share when you're imputing it manually.

    I have a similar setup to you, no password. I just type in the name and it connects. Sometimes if it won't connect, I find that removing the share, turning off sharing and starting over works.
