    Unhappy 1.5.0/1.5.1 do not work on my brand new Boxee Box

    Since Boxee Support hasn't responded so far in 2 days, I thought I'd ask and see if anyone else has a solution, or has encountered this problem. Did I get a dud Boxee box, or is 1.5.x REALLY that bad? I was hoping to have this fixed, or known as unfixable by Wednesday so I can return it for a refund if necessary.

    I bought my Boxee Box yesterday [Friday 2012-08-17], after hearing so many wonderful things about it, and after a horrible experience with the WD TV Live. Now, I'm having a horrible experience with my Boxee Box.

    My Boxee Box came with OS version 1.1.1, and everything seems to work fine (if outdated). It upgraded itself to 1.5.1, and sound stops working on channels and on local USB stick. AVI/DivX movies halt every 15 seconds, and need a fast-forward bump to get them moving again (still without sound). When I exit movies/applications, the Boxee locks up. Downgraded to 1.5.0, and still have no sound, just no lockup on application exit now.

    Video output: HDMI->DVI
    Audio output: RCA audio

    Set Boxee to DEBUG logging. Restarted Boxee. Started a movie from USB stick. No sound. Movie halts after 15 seconds of playtime. Exited movie player app. Boxee appears frozen.

    perhaps you could try a different usb stick or try reformating your existing one. or try a local external hdd...also the boxee box is capable of recognizing many file system schemes i have had the most luck with an external hard drive formated to ext4. also SMB is a fairly easy option.

    Ahh... but the problem is that everything works PERFECTLY in 1.1.x and 1.2.x. Reverting back (after auto-upgrade) to 1.1.1 and losing all my settings every day is NOT an option. So, I know that the Boxee Box works fine with my memory stick. It's 1.5.x that's the problem. Or my hardware. I just don't know at this point.

    Customer support contacted me. Needed to set Audio to Analog. I had thought I'd done that; apparently not. Boxee seems to be working fine on 1.5.1.
