Default Debating getting a boxee today..

Hey guys im new to the forum but ive been following the threads and posts here for about a month now.
Im currently using xbmc and i love it but at the end of the day im sick of plugging in my laptop through hdmi to stream to the tv and using the keyboard to navigate through xbmc
I want to to just hop on the couch and use a remote to scroll through all my files, and boxee seems to provide the best option for that.
The only thing holding me back right now from picking up a boxee is if Navi-x is working, as i love it on xbmc
I have read the posts on the navi-x thread and to my understanding it a little malfunctional? but most posts about its functionality are almost a month old now
    http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.ph...light=fuzzhead
I read ironbills post above about fuzzthed's repository (pg 318), is this still working?
Could anybody comment if they have been using navi x lately and if it is working well for them?
    Thanks alot

I just used Navi-X via fuzzthed's repo last night and it worked fine, so as long as you're aware of the other issues with BB right now I'd say go for it. The box still does a great job playing local media for me.

If streaming support is important to you though, make sure you make yourself very aware of the ongoing issues on that front. Boxee has become fairly weak on that front, although the Netflix player is sound and if you don't mind pay-to-play solutions Vudu is still pretty excellent.

I use it for this daily.

TBH, if I am hellbent on Navi and it seems down on BB, I try it on xbmc - if working I connect it tot he tv as a backup. I will grab rtmp streams via xbmc and throw to the tv on ocation if i cant find a stream that works on BB for various things.

I switched to the latest Sony Google TV. Does everything I need it to do. Have 2 usb hard drives attached to it fo all my streaming needs.

wxman have you gotten navi x on the sony (im guessing nsz-gs7) or are you just using plex to stream local content and google chrome to stream any other content off the internet?
How do you like plex? does it work just as well as the boxee in terms of plugging in your hard drive and it identifying media?
