Default DTS/AC3 to stereo via spdif

    Hi guys

Quick question, maybe even a dumb one.

Right now Im running a stereo setup on a surround receiver with ac3/dts decoders.

I will soon be changing the reciever to a stereo amplifier with a built in dac and will connect the Boxee Box via spdif - however, the stereo amp dosent have decoders for dts or ac3, will the Boxee box decode the sound from dts/ac3 video files to stereo via spdif for my new amp? in a good quality?

This is regarding normal ac3 and dts - not hd-audio.

Yeah, you should be able to just untick the unsupported audio formats in the settings and BB will down mix it. You can test it with your current setup... just untick the options.

    Running Boxee Box firmware: 1.5.1.23735

You can also set your audio setting to "All" which will down-mix to stereo for every output - that way you don't have to tick/untick additional boxes.
