    Default Help / Understand on playback

    Hi

    Forgive my lack of understanding on something probably so basic, I am a relatively newbie with Boxee (and an oldie). Whilst the majority of shows I watch via boxee works just fine, I have a few questions hopefully someone could explain. (For this exercise I am using Navi-x through Boxee watching TV shows) I am trying to understand why playback on some TV streams work flawlessly and others freeze whilst the stream bar catches up, then playback is okay for several minutes before freezing again, sometimes frequently. I realise it could be for several reasons but please humour me, as I am talking about similar TV programme episodes from the same source.

    Is it the stream that is causing it (maybe bit rate or speed?) or is it to do with my internet speed not coping with the stream (currently 6Mb download via ethernet) or something to do with Boxee setup? And is there anything I can do to fix?

    Some TV listings of the same episode indicate (Fast) some indicate (Average) (I assume this to mean something to do with the bit rate?) Average seems to work better for me and can watch a full episode without fault, whereas another episode (also listed as Average) can give the freeze/update issue? (for comparison Fast seems gives me the freeze/update issue constantly) Would a faster internet speed improve my experience?

    Whilst I am on this subject why do some of those listings report file error, or wrong type (Do I understand those listings could be in different file formats that boxee cant display?) (Or is there a problem at the source)
