    Default MPG playback is choppy

got a Boxee, upgraded the the latest firmware.
I have MPG (4) files on a USB hard drive plugged into the Boxee and the palyback is awful. Very choppy to the poit it is un watchable. What could the problem be. I plug the same external drive into PC tha the playback in windows media player is perfect. The Boxee plays DVD file structure rips just fine.

    Thank you

Are these from a video camera or home movies? or something else?

Download "media info lite" (google for it) and run on one of the mpg files and post the output here.

Thank you for the reply, The files were originally *.tivo. I used KMTTG to decrypt.

From this http://support.boxee.tv/entries/2070...-media-formats I don't see mpeg-ps supported... not sure if there are any other issues with the encode that might make boxee balk.

Any chance you can transcode to h.264 or something else that boxee supports?
