I'm starting a plugin to try to work with mlb.tv. I will be mostly working off of the opensource mlbviewer project. I've started to reverse engineer this years mlb.tv setup and it has a few different video types available.

Does anyone know if xbmc video plugins will handle mp4 as a source video type or just flash urls?

Haven't tried myself, but from what I've read, mp4 is supported in XBMC. If the latest stable doesn't support it, the latest svn build should.

Looks like mlb.tv isn't quite ready to publish their mp4 player:

It comes and goes, but will be nice when they promote it to prod.

Any updates with this plugin? It'd be nice to have MLB.tv in Boxee. I tried out the Plex media center plugin, and it works beautifully. It saves login info, and displays games in a nice menu format that is navigable with the Apple remote. Maybe you could get to that plugin for info on how to make one for Boxee?
