Default Local videos take 1-2 minutes to start playing now

As best as I can tell this is since the last update. I've been quite unhappy with the boxee box since I got it and haven't used it very much lately, but I booted it up the other day to try and get it running smoothly for once and am having a major issue I haven't had in the past...streaming local content is extremely slow. The thing is, after the video FINALLY loads, it's smooth sailing...I FF & RW with no delays...everything is peachy.

It's not any specific file format or size.....5gig 1080p MKV, 1 gig 720p MP4...doesn't matter, it's always like this. I have used Wireless N, 10/100 router and even a gigabit switch between my computer and the boxee box and it's always the same. Anyone have any ideas? Ah yes, I have done a factory reset and that did not help either.

I have tried both SMB and Boxee media manager shares...what I used before and videos loaded in 3-5 seconds was SMB.

Any way to reset and not update the firmware? I'm curious if it would solve the issue...

    Thank you for any insight,
    Jeremy

Thread on how to block updates: http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=35225 (easiest method: turn off the screen saver and ALWAYS used the power button ON the Box to power off the Box; updates will *download* but you will not be forced to *install* it)

Thread on how to install download specific versions, be sure to read the ENTIRE post for the gory details! http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.ph...031#post206031

Alternatively, you could try setting up NFS: http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=54094
