So since there are problems with 5.1 audio - I might start with 2.1 instead.
I know nothing about audio - how does this work?
i.e.: What is the Speaker(s) plugged in to? tv or boxee?
what type of connector?
Thanks

I think the only problems affecting DTS/DD 5.1 occur sometimes when connecting via HDMI. If you connect to a sound system via the optical/SPDIF out it should work fine.

If I have files that use DTS HD audio, and my home cinema system only has capanility for prologic or something, will the file just have no sound or will it play in another format instead?
Boxee will down mix to stereo if you have it set up for stereo output (2ch).
