Default Unable to locate HBO Go version that dosent require flash

I have searched the forums, googled links and all HBO Go links bring me to HBOGO but require me to install a flash player. I just bought the Boxee and was told this was one of the channels available, I understand the app was pulled. Is there a link to the version that doesn't require flash (html 5 version I have seen people post about), so I can save as a favorite? The link to spotlight gallery in this forum still requires you to install flash. Any help is appreciated because this was one of the reasons I purchased the unit, thank you.

The only thing I find at the link mentioned is the HBO go icon which takes u to the home page. There is no url specific to the html 5. Anything selected there tries to run under flash and complains. Can someone please either cut and paste a specific url to html 5 hbogo or respond on how to get it to run on boxee box not just boxee. thanks

Even though HBO GO might be thinking about migrating or is in the process of migrating to HTML 5, here are the current computer system requirements per their website:

    HBO GO Help

What are the computer system requirements to access HBO GO from my computer?

HBO GO requires the following minimum system requirements: 1) An Adobe Flash Player with version 10.2 or higher. 2) An Internet connection of 3.0Mbps or greater (for HD content). 3) For Windows: An Intel Pentium 4 3GHz processor (or equivalent) with 512MB RAM/128MB of VRAM. 4) For a Mac: An Intel Core Duo 1.83GHz or faster processor, 512MB of RAM/128MB of VRAM. To check if you have the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player, go to www.adobe.com.

The boxee box is a computer.

The browser that HBO GO runs in must support flash. HBO GO on the boxee box runs in the boxee browser and if it is having issues it is because of the browser and is most likely a flash issue or HTML 5 issue...not sure which or both maybe.

The bottom line is that it is the boxee browser. It has had problems playing HBO GO for a long time now.

Do I need a specific web browser to use HBO GO on my computer (e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla, etc.)?

HBO GO recommends using the following browsers: 1) For Windows: Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater, the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or the latest version of Google Chrome. 2) For Mac OS X: Safari 5.0 or greater, the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or the latest version of Google Chrome.

The boxee browser is not officially supported by HBO GO. Although it might work at times....

Thanks then....I just get the error about the wrong version of flash. I guess with Roku supporting hulu + and hbogo then boxee's days are just numbered. Its a shame that industry giants get to dictate what you can use at home to watch content. Too bad boxee appears to be very good with the keypad and nice interface.

    Default Also wondering

I am also looking for a way to force html5 on the boxee. Was that what the APP was doing? By the twitter post, it seems like there should still be a way, but I can't seem to figure it out.

    Anyone?

Looks like we the users are caught in the middle of "to pay or not to pay lets break it for those who dont" with Roku Hulu+ HBO and more. Its all about making and taking your money. HBO was going to allow anyone who wished to sign up for HBO streaming regardless of whether u got the content from Dish Directv or your cable company. It is where the industry started....ala carte. Your local/national provided are fighting that so you can not because most people would abandon them and they are very afraid of that. They would become a dinosaur quickly. So the consumer suffers.

I agree 100% and I actually have a roku hooked up to the same TV as my boxee box. It is much better at playing online content, period.
