Default Netflix not on the list

I just purchased a BB and hooked it up the other night. Went through the set-up process and everything was all good. However, Netflix is not listed anywhere as a usuable app. I tried doing a search for it and it didn't even come up. What am I missing? The only thing I could think of was maybe because the email address I used to set-up the BB was different than the email address that Netflix is registered under? If that is the case, is there a way to circumvent this, or add the other email addy as well? Or, if this isn't the problem, how do I get Netflix to show up?

I suppose while I'm looking for answers, I might as well add that I plugged in a usb device to watch some avi files instead of Netflix, and the BB didn't see any of the avi files on the usb stick. The avi were all xvid, and they play fine off my WD mediaplayer, and even through the usb on my Blu Ray player. I haven't done anymore testing because I was pretty aggravated that nothing was working and was going to return it today. But, I thought I would choose the high ground for once and seek some help to hopefully resolve these issues and get this thing working properly.

    Thanks in advance!

I was having Netflix problems with mine at first as well, then the system went through the upgrade to the newest version, then Netflix started working. Are you on the newest version? Sorry I can't offer more.

I will have to check, but I think I read that it should update as soon as it connects to the internet? Perhaps I should force it to detect? What firmware should it be?

Re: Netflix -- what country are you in? Currently only works in the US and Canada.

Re: files on USB stick -- how are you navigating to the USB stick? And how as the stick formatted? It may be a permissions problem of some kind?

Can you browse your local network to a computer and access video files that way?

    I am in Canada.
I will have to reconnect tonight to tell you how I connected to the stick. But it just listed the folders on the drive and couldn't access anything on it, including photos. It's probably FAT32 formatted to swap between Mac and PC but I will check that too. And yes, I am going to be setting up my computers for networking to it tonight as well.

So, it turns out the problem was fixed by doing the upgrade. As soon as the Box rebooted, everything worked fine. Thanks for the help, and the quick responses, it prevented me from 'rage quitting' my Boxee Box!
