Default Trouble with my Boxee Box

    Hi all.

I'm having a Boxee Box running the latest firmware (as per 2012-07-11 - i cannot remember the version...)

But, after updating, it's begun to have some problems.

    1) Sometimes a movie (specifically .iso and .avi) is freezing during playback. It most certainly happen about 1 hour after starting the movie.
    2) Another issue i have, since updating to the latest firmware, is, that i cannot connect seperate speakers. The only sound output that works, is with my HDMI to Television. If i eventually connect seperate speakers to the phono outlets in the Boxee Box, it will play the introsound perfect, but afterwards state, that it could not find any audiosource - and then, ofcause, the sound doesn't work.

Is there any know fixes for the above two issues?

If you need any additional information, let me know.

    Thanks!

    /psymoN

#1 - do a factory reset and update again.

#2 - change your audio output settings in Boxee's prefs to "ALL" or to "Analog"
Manta TR1 IR Receiver for Boxee and HTPC - Use your Universal Remote with Boxee Box or XBMC HTPC, including Raspberry Pi
Also for Windows, Linux & Mac OS X: Windows Media Center, SageTV, JRiver Media Center, MediaPortal, XBMC, Plex, MythTV, etc.

Both of the metioned issues. (Freezing and sound).

The files har located on an external drive, connected to the Boxee's USB outlet.

No. They have a 2TB WD Elements drive connected, each. :-)

It could be that you WD Elements drive is spinning down at the one hour point to save energy. Have you tried to check the spin down settings of the drive(s) with the WD "Spindown or Stop" utility? I'm not sure that this link is for your harddrive edition, but it at least gives you a starting point => http://support.wdc.com/product/downl...id=301&lang=en

Are you connecting the speakers directly to the two RCA stereo jacks on the back of the Boxee Box? Wouldn't you need to connect an amplifier to those jacks in order to get sound out of these?

I'm trying the suggested program, to check. But since its not on every single movie/media it stops, i'm having a hard time thinking, that it's the drives. But i'll check :-)

Yes, i'm connecting the speakers directly to the two RCA jacks on the back of the box. They have build-in amplifier, and worked fine, until i've upgraded to the lastest software release.
Since then, i've tried to make an factory reset, but the problem persists, even though it's running the oldest firmware. (Currently, i've upgraded to the latest yet again)
