Default If i turn off my BB, i have to set it up all over again?!

    Hey folks

This is going to be the first of many posts i think!

I've just got hold of a Boxee Box and i've turned it off three times today. Each time i turn it back on i have to go through the screen adjusting and blurb about the remote control buttons etc and even though i tick the please remember my login, it makes me login in again.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Ben

That happened to me after a firmware upgrade. Flashed the new firmware again and it started working normally.
Might be worth a try but I'd recommend downloading the firmware and using a flash drive in lieu of the online option.

Can i just do this exactly as you would with a laptop for example? I'll have a search on the forum and see if i can see some instructions!

    Please someone help me.
I've spent 6 hours trying to get it to turn on, off and on again and remember who i am.
I honestly dont think ive ever had a device that was so sh1t.....starting to lose the will to live!!

    Thanks for any help folks

    Ben

    P.s.
The main problem i have, is that i previously spent a good few hours editing the unidentifiable movies and tv shows that i have stored locally, so i can have nice pretty pictures and movie info, but it doesnt remember any of it!!

It's quite likely the hardware is going bad. You can either contact official Boxee support (see first link below) and/or if the Box is still under warranty, contact D-Link support and start their RMA process...
