    Default How many Sources ?

7 Sources and I'm good, add one more and none will ever scan again forcing me to delete all and add up to 7 again, anyone else ?

Is the eighth one always the same or have you mixed up the order you're adding your folders/sources?

i mixed them up, further tests indicate that its always one perticular scource with hundreds of files that refuse to scan, only a full factory restore fixes it, and then on the 8th source being added that same source just sits there waiting to be scanned for ever.

edit :- i can get the others to scan by deleting one scource to make 7, but not the big one (with all my movies in it) this scource points to a NAS if that makes a difference

Maybe to track down the problem:

    Remove all sources
    Turn on debug logging
    Add that one source

and see in the logs where it's hanging?

good idea, what ive done is to factory reset, and its now scanning it like nothing ever was wrong, but when it fails again (and it will if I add 7 more scources) i'll do just what you have suggested.

Make sure that your sources are non-overlapping: don't have one source that is a folder on a drive that is already set up as a source. People have done that with bad results...

I have run into this recently. I removed all my local sources except /nas and /mybooklive which I have setup to never scan for media. Then I added back /nas/movies /nas/cartoons mybooklive/movies and mybooklive/cartoons. The movies and cartoon shares would NOT scan until I deleted the /nas and /mybooklive shares from my media sources, then bam they started scanning right away. I just added /nas and /mybooklive back after I got my media library back and set them to never scan.
