Problem identifying one TV show

Hi,

I'm using ViMediaManager on Mac to autogenerate .nfo files and download the poster, but when identifying, Boxee seems to try to do it by itself and doesn't use the .nfo at all.

Most of the time this is not an issue, as Boxee properly identifies shows, but there is one show (The Ricky Gervais Show) where:

• The identified show is wrong (it thinks the show is 'Have I Got News for You')
• The Ricky Gervais Show has 3 seasons, each one with about 13 episodes, but Boxee finds only 1 episode. After opening the episode I can see the show detail and instead on just one play button, there are a lot of them (one for each chapter).

See the attached screenshots (taken from the Mac version of Boxee, which does exactly the same as in Boxee Box).

Looks like something is wrong with either Boxee or ViMediaManager.

I would start with removing the three <id> tags in your nfo and then try re-identifying the tv show manually.

Am I doing anything wrong? Could it be related to the Boxee not dealing well with the TVDB database?

Boxee uses their own media info databases based on licensed data from imdb.com and data from thetvdb.com site and their own localized updates. So what you see at either of those sites might not be what Boxee is using.

As I said, try removing the <id> tags and re-identifying manually...

Ok, tried removing the id tags and manually identifying them and it sort of worked. Thanks!

Now there are two minor issues though: I get no thumbnail neither for the show nor for the episodes, and the aired date for each episode is wrong (Jan 1 1970).

I'll try adding one by one the three ids to see if that helps.

Also, why doesn't Boxee use the poster.jpg file that is on the same folder as the show and uses another one instead?

About the show not showing the episode thumbnails and aired date, I tried adding one id at a time and it didn't work. Well, not a big issue.

To display the airdate you need to use <aired> per the NFO support page: http://support.boxee.tv/entries/5102...ng-an-nfo-file

If you don't want Boxee to override the data in your NFO files, either remove/comment out the <id> tags or possibly move them to the bottom of the NFO file.
