    Wink i.want my money back

I have tried all the fancy tricks posted.in this and otber forums. I have even gone so far as to make sure all my files.are named correctly.with periods and s and e and so on. Yet despite these efforts i am rewarded with a bb that mist constantly be rebooted, constant loss of my sources, rediculous wait times for files to load or for that matter to do anything. The only bit that seems to work reasonably well are the featured videos on the home screen.

I have all the firmware up to date. My ps3 sees every thng just fine. My wdtv live kicks the crap out of the bb in every respect save fast forwarding.

This piece of junk cost me $200 bucks and i want my money back. The place i bought it from wont take it back due to thier return policy. I suppose this is my fault - i just kept hoping and believing thqt nobody with a shred of ethic would.somehing so bad eventually the return window expired and now i cant return it.

I wont be one of those fly by and crap on something and fly away never to be seen again posters. If there are other things i have not tried i will try them. Till then i want my money bqck you thieves.

??? periods and s and e??? I don't use any periods in the names of my titles. No idea what s and e is about.

As far as your money back, you were the one that pruchased it from a place with a bad return policy. Why would you purchase something from a store that didn't allow you to return it if there were issues?

If you used a credit card you might try contacting them.

At the very least it is under warranty with Dlink. So you could contact them for an RMA.

I have no idea what the periods are about, but I have them in some file names and don't seem to make a difference, either way. I *think* periods can be used like an underscore or space, but I am not 100% sure about that.

I am guessing with "s and e" he means for naming TV shows where s = "season" and e = "episode".

Anyways - the behavior being described in the OP is not normal. As
aaronwt suggested - contact D-Link customer service. If that doesn't help, reach out to Team Boxee member marcel here on the forum.

Indeed, s and e refer to the series and episode.

Rhoq, thanks for the feedback. I will contact d-link for support. Embarrassingly, this is one thing I have not yet tried.

Aaronwt:Not very constructive feedback. The return policy is not the issue here, the device is. I fail to see how the failure of the device to live up to its claims has anything to do with a return policy

Every electronic device ever made has had a certain percentage of failures. No electronic device is immune from failures. So it only makes sense to purchase an item from a merchant that, at the very least, allows an exchange of a defective item.

A consumer needs to do their due diligence as well when purchasing a product. They need to research the product as well as research the merchant they will be purchasing the product from.

    .
It might surprise you but the vast majority of the world does not have "I changed my mind" return policies.. Here in Asia many places the warranty stops the moment you pay for it, just deal with the manufacturer.

I had to import my boxee myself.. With shipping, import taxes, etc etc etc.. You can count on it being about double us prices and no warranty at all..

How are you accessing the file sources?

    Wired or Wireless?

What type of shares are you using? SMB, AFP, NFS, UPNP? What kind of hardware is sharing the source?

More info would help in trying to solve your issues.

I put mine on ebay and got $140 for a device that I paid $189 for. I took a loss but I was happy with what I got. The 3 months that the device actually worked properly were well worth the $49 especially in comparison to what my cable bill would of been.

    As listed earlier

    Connected via wired / wireless?
What protocol are you using? (NFS, SMB?)

Are you running your info through Ember Media Manager?

Do you have an example of your layout?
