Default Boxee can't see all network files

We've been using our Boxee Box for a while to watch content over the network. As of a couple of weeks ago, nothing new is showing up in either the library or when browsing files. A video file is dragged into the folder and shows up on the computer, but Boxee doesn't see it.

I have already deleted the source and re-added it. I've also deleted the library and rescanned.

    Any ideas???

Does Boxee see it if you browse to the folder (via "Files" from the Home Screen)?

Or if you browse to that folder, does it see all the files in that folder or just some files?

Update: I've discovered the problem, but I'm still confused

Apparently, the particular files in question weren't shared, so it was a Windows 7 problem, not a Boxee problem. The weird thing is that this seemed to have started spontaneously. We've been moving new video files to the shared folder for ages with no problem. All of the sudden, newly added filed don't inherit the "shared" status from the shared folder. This is a very annoying problem.

    Any ideas?

It may depend on how you are putting the files in the folder and where they are coming from. If you copy the files into the folder I think it should inherit them but if you move I think it depends on if the file is on the same volume. You could try moving the affected files out of the folder then copy them back in... might fix it... I think its something like this anyway...

I think you are correct based on what I've read elsewhere, but what confuses me is that I've been moving files into this folder for years without this problem.
