just use the same version cable for all of your devices. I just buy them in bundles so I don't have issues with handshaking. I can't count the number of people I've fixed issues by just ordering them a pack of cables.

Have you been able to successfully connect any HDMI device to your TV (XBox, PS3, cablebox)? Using different HDMI cables?
If none of this worked then I guess the problem lies in the TV, if those work it would be a smart idea to try connecting the Boxee Box using the same cable. That at least helps to narrow down the real cause of the problem. And if it is the TV Philips does do repairs to TV's at their own cost when the cause is a factory/production problem.
I once had a CRT tube replaced for free on my old Philips CRT TV, even though the TV was long out of warranty and a friend of mine had the CFL backlight in his Philips 42 inch LCD TV replaced free of charge and at his home by a Philips service engineer when that failed due to a faulty batch during production.
