Thread: Youtube videos stopping some way in

Default Youtube videos stopping some way in

I'm noticing that some Youtube videos are stopping some minutes in. For example anything about 20 minutes or longer by the ChessNetwork user (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG92_...feature=relmfu ) seem to stop about 17 minutes in. I remember in the early days of the Box's existence there was a bug that caused this to happen regularly (something to do with running out of temp space on the box), but that was fixed a while back. I tried finding the JIRA but was unable to. Anyway, now I'm starting to see this behavior again.

Will see if I get resolution here and if not I'll enter a new JIRA.

    Thanks.

This happens to me often. I have to quit the browser and restart it and seek ahead in the video to get it playing again.

    I`v got the same problem.
On IE YT vids runs smoothly, you can see the grey progressbar fill up a lot faster than de playposition of the video.
On the BB you don`t see a progressbar (is it called that way?) at all, and most video`s hang after a couple of minutes.
Sometimes if you go navigate a page back an then forth again (which is very annoying), it plays ok again.
But a lot of times not.
also , In IE you can click on another place in the progressbar to wake YT up if needed, but that does not work on the BB.

This sounds like a different issue to mine. Mine just hangs, without the usual Youtube buffering graphic coming up (indicating it's not a buffering/latency issue). I don't get the Boxee Screen (?), just a hung video. I basically have to exit the video & if I go back in to restart it it would recur at around the same point again.

Yes, me too. I think we're having the same issue.
