I would laugh if come fall time their big release is not a new Boxee but just Paid PVR/DVR capabilities for their live TV and we find out that's what they've been working on for the year.

iPhones come out what every 6 months to a year. Laptops are outdated in about the same. 2 years for a life cycle of a piece of technology is pretty long and a new boxee has been desperately needed for a while now.
Has the Boxee had some bumps in the road, yes. What doesn't. Im a happy boxee customer and am excited to purchase the next boxee.
Boxee has some big competition as the new xbox seems to be positioning itself as the one stop shop for entertainment. Taunts of Apple TV making big strides and the ever looming Google TV. It's going to be interesting.
People, keep in mind that Boxee doesn't actually make any hardware, they just port the Boxee software/firmware to hardware created by partners willing to make hardware capable of running the boxee software/firmware. Their business model isn't to make profit on the hardware or software (though I guess that their hardware partners like to make a profit on the hardware, Boxee doesn't make a dime on the hardware) but instead they get a percentage from their content partners (like Netflix) for each user that consumes their content via the Boxee Box. As long as the majority of their users are using the current Boxee devices (D-Link's Boxee Box and Iomega's Iomega TV with Boxee) it is in Boxee's interest to keep those platforms going.
I can imagine that D-Link or another hardware vendor is willing to create a new Box (as I understood D-Link was more than happy with the Boxee Box sales figures, which exceeded expectations) and as such that Boxee is busy porting their software/firmware to this new product, but it would be madness for Boxee to neglect the old platforms as that is where they make most of their income.
Yes but its team Boxee here they are all mad, releasing firmware that break 2 things that worked and fixing one that was broken and then adding more beta code to already broken code. Yes it sure is due time for new HW I just don't think Team Boxee can deliver what they promise as they have yet to prove it with current gen HW and i have lost faith.
I sure hope they step up there game next round or they are going to get knocked out of the park by bigger and badder i.e Microsoft, Apple and Google that have plenty of $$ to burn. I chose BBox because i liked rooting for the under dog and saw allot of potential but we all know how that turned out. That being said I used both my Boxee Box daily and its still the center of my digital media.
Even if you did have inside information - and I don't know that you ever said that you do - it's kind of obvious that a hardware refresh is on its way. I myself check stock at Fry's Electronics whenever I'm there, and they haven't had any units for a while now. Intel has discontinued the chipset, Adobe has discontinued Flash support, Amazon is regularly discounting units, etc. All this points to either new hardware coming soon, or a complete, imminent end to Boxee. I doubt it's the latter.
