Default New Boxee hardware coming IN THE FALL.

Sorry, I can't tell you how I know this, but there will be new Boxee Box hardware coming in the fall. I also know that Boxee is revamping their 3rd party app interface and will be HTML5 based... (not surprising)

Just wanted to let y'all know.

Sounds great but specifics would really be nice. Maybe i should sell off one or two of my boxes now. I only use one of them daily.

If and when it does future updates for the current box would be few to none.
Remember boxee desktop they don't support anything that's of no money making use to them.

It would still go online and do what it does now for the most part but future support would be nill, just like the desktop software.

No pics, no details, no proof ... how does this help us?

I'm not sure about anyone else, but if this is true (and I'm not saying I doubt that it is) this really just makes me a bit more resentful against my current hardware.

Yeah, I don't blame you for not believing me (there's a lot of bad info on the internet) - take it with whatever grain of salt you want...

(assuming true) a 2 year life cycle - sounds about right.

I'm not saying I doubt you. In fact, given the age of the box, Intel dropping support (more or less), and the way JIRA has ground to a halt, I wouldn't be a bit surprised that it's happening. I'm just saying without anything to look forward to, what good does this do us? We now get confirmation that the hardware we have is going to be abandoned and all the issues that are currently sitting out there are probably going to be permanent. You want a fix? Buy another box. So, you're leaving us to stew in our own juices with no silver lining.

    See what I mean?

Maybe if we had one thing that said "Hey, look forward to Boxee Box 2 because _________", then this would be happier news.

This actually makes sense and might explain why they don't fix stuff anymore on jiraa like before. Probably the devs are focusing on the next hardware since that will probably bring more money in than putting work and effort into this dead hardware (with no support from Intel).
And I must say I am really angry about this as I would have purchased something else if I knew they were going to do this.
Your #1 priority dear Boxee team should be fixing this box first and pressuring the hell out of Intel to release that sdk(if that is really the case) and not the next boxee box. There also are a lot of small/big issues that I don't believe require new sdk support so why not focus on those?!
That is just a big F. U. to the customers that helped you get where you are now.
If the OP is wrong please excuse my anger and post. Otherwise do not excuse.

+1 for abandoning the box and releasing SOME details of a replacement box. just say SOMETHING.
