    Red face Native YouTube player

I would like to suggest that the developers of boxee communicate with google/YouTube and develop an alternative to YouTube lean back.

YouTube lean back isn't an acceptable method to access YouTube videos (in my humble opinion). The current YouTube lean back does not have an easily accessible method for browsing a YouTube channel directly, all of your subscriptions are put into a single feed instead of being ale to browse all of your subscriptions individually, and the quality of the videos rarely ever utilizes the 720p or 1080p versions of the video if it is available.

I would really like to see an alternative to the YouTube app similar to the YouTube player that is included with the apple tv.

You really need to take this up directly with Google/YouTube -- it's their app/content and they have decided that LeanBack is how they want their site/content viewed from set-top boxes / on televisions.

I have gotten a response from youtube, the response goes as follows.

    Hi there,

I can pass these suggestions to our team. I'd also suggest contacting Boxee and letting them know about this as well!

    Thanks,
    -ytDangler
So, Boxee tells me to bring my concern with youtube, and youtube tells me to talk to boxee. Why does neither party want to help?

Well, you've posted the suggestion here as Boxee recommends (feature requests).

YouTube has stated that your suggestions will passed on to their team.

Seems like you've done the right thing and now it's up to one or the other or both to take action. They may or may not.

Yeah it now totally depends on them. But i think of course one party will provide you an alternative app similar to the YouTube player with Apple Tv. So just wait for their action.
