    Question Formats for Apple Tv?

    Hello,

Are there specific video formats which are needed for use with the Boxee system? Or, will the system convert the formats which are most commonly used?

    Thank you for sharing.

Not sure what you are asking

    http://boxee.zendesk.com/entries/207...-media-formats

    Does that cover the question?

The above probably does not apply to AppleTV since it has limited playback format capability.

I know I am inviting a beating (), but I have to disagree somewhat. My 1st gen, cystalHD ATV running Tiger and Crystalbuntu (usb install) plays pretty much anything including blueray ripped files. Stock ATV would struggle with anything over 720p, but with a crystalHD equipped, crystalEden box, its as good as it gets (short of a homemade box).

In terms of formats, you name it, including .flv, I have ZERO issues with pretty much any file. Boxee and XBMC (and Nito) handle most files.

    Please beat me now !

Yes, well, I assumed the poster was asking about the stock ATV.

Your points about a modded version all stand, so, no beating for you today!

Normally, Apple TV can only play video and music files that are compatible with iTunes or bought through the iTunes Store.
