Question Do I need any other special equipment? Operating system?

If I desire to use Boxee with my videos, music, and photos - do I need any other special equipment? I have just found out about the Boxee and would love to learn more about the product.

Also, do I need to run a specific operation system on my computer? I have window xp on one of my computers as well as millineum addition.

Boxee no longer provides download links nor supports the software / computer version of Boxee.

You can download to the last versions of the software from here however: http://bartsidee.nl/downloads

Boxee will not run on Windows ME. Boxee will work somewhat well on XP.

If you want to use Boxee to watch videos on your TV will you need to:

    1) identify what kind of display out options you have on your computer
    2) what kind of video inputs you have on your TV
    3) use/buy the appropriate cables / adapters to connect your computer to your TV

So, Boxee is not available for the computer? Or just the older operating systems? Forgive me, I this is all new to me. I find the product very interesting and I know that it would save me money in the long run.

Boxee the company no longer supports the desktop Boxee application for running on your computer.

You can still download versions to install and run from the URL above but you're pretty much on your own unless another user here on the forums wants to help out.

Boxee the company has decided to focus on set-top boxes like the Boxee Box and features/applications related to online video services.
