Talking How much can Boxee Box take?

Hi as you can see i'm new to the forum. But i have a quick question.

How much user data can boxee take as the internal storage is only 1gb?

The reason i ask is because i was a xbmc owner. I have switched to boxee because of my wife (to make life easy as xbmc is to complex for her (i'm not sexist she told me)). I have 3 x 4tb dlink naz drives and they have allot of content (inc scrape data).

So the question is will it run out as i aim to adding more?

If it will, will dlink allow the database be stored on the SD card?
I have loads of class 10 32gb cards

Thanks allot for your help and i'm looking to buy another boxee if all goes well

That's right that it has 1 GB internal storage. The only solution I can see for your problem is to use .nfo files for your movies and TV shows
Also you can't use SD card to store local metadata.

Using NFO files won't alleviate the potential problem as the data from those files is scanned and put into the media info database, just like it would be if the Boxee servers were used to identify media.

It's hard to say if this is a real problem or not as I don't think anyone has been able to show that they have so much content that their media info database has been larger than what has been allocated for it...

Some posters on this forum have at least a thousand movies and THOUSANDS of TV show episodes, and I have yet to hear of anyone reaching the database storage limit. Remember, the database probably doesn't have to store that much information - some general movie or episode data plus the file location and format. I don't think you will have a problem.

I've got over 1,000 movies and over 5,000 episodes identified by boxee. The problem isn't capacity, but speed and stability. I switched to all NFO files as I've taken Boxee on an RV trip. I've had alot of issues with AFP becoming unusable for boxee, but not for other devices. I booted boxee up (with an internet connection the other night) and suddenly everything worked again. It's like you need an internet connection to find your local files. Frustrating.
