Default Boxee output is extremely quiet on Mac Mini and can't fix it

Hi, I've been using Boxee application on my Mac Mini for the last few months to watch movies, Netflix etc. About a week ago, the volume level on all Boxee output got extremely quiet, such that if I have both the Mac volume and the speaker volume maxed out, I can pretty much barely hear it from ~5 feet away.

I wouldn't be surprised if I accidentally changed some setting, but I don't know what it would be.

Is there any way to fix this, either within Mac or within Boxee?

    Thanks

Ah, I eventually figured this out. My roommate accidentally locked on to my Mac's Boxee with his IOS app while trying to control the Boxee unit in the living room, and adjusted the volume through that. So I was able to change the volume once I used the IOS app to control Boxee on the Mac.

But -- it would be great if you could just control the Boxee volume within the Boxee application!

While the video is playing, and when no other onscreen controls are displayed, try the + and - keys on your keyboard for volume up/down

Boxee's volume control doesn't function with all content/videos though - I believe most local files and some apps support it - but not others, ie... Youtube, etc.

There are some files where the sounds can't really be maximized. I noticed that because I am playing different videos and some can be really loud and the others just can't be heard.
