Free shipping usually helps too instead of charging $10.

Well its been over 12 months since any firmware update has fixed any issues that concern the average user. If team boxee was concerned about its customers, at minimum DLNA would work after 1 year of total f#@! up updates.
I think the post just shows the average users frustration and lack of confidence in Team boxee. I hope for the sake of credibility they fix either the DLNA or the Sound problem in the next update. If the past is an indicator the next update should be June or July. I think if Team boxee has no solution for these two issues soon the box at least is doomed. If I'm in the room where these guys are I would be suggesting updating codec and flash in one of the older DLNA working firmware for a temporary solution. ( Personally I think there borking DLNA Purposely.)

I gave up on boxee 3 weeks ago and built my own HTPC running Mediaportal, its frakin fantastic.
Amazing how much better the interface and options are and its extremly flexible with skins and plugins. Most fo the new skins look much better than the Boxee interface and no audio drops or hdd's constantly disconnecting.

I'm really worried too about the future of Boxee, you only need to look at Jira to see it !

More and more issue open over the month and all waiting for resolution or not even on the way to be fixed !!! I think the Boxee Box it's going down and going to be a good paper weight !

I think that Boxee have nice ideas but the assurance quality is not experimented. In fact, all new firmware there are a lot of new bugs and strange new features like netflix buttons. Modern TVs can almost do what Boxee Box can do. All cheap bluray player have netflix. When they presented the live TV feature, everybody was excited. But my TV is able to receive ATSC signal on the air, why need I a boxee box for that. There is no PVR. It's not usefull. If someday, PVR feature comes out, it can be a good solution but it will come with a lot a bugs. I don't want to miss a TV show because Boxee didn't record it. I don't trust it.

I think that they need to open the box. Community will do better than boxee box team. Sorry

Totally agree with you, it's a shame really !

I don't mind to wait 3-5months for an update as long as it's a strong one and no critical bugs like every update as brought us so far ! were is the quality control ? shame really

Does Plex as a box ? if not they should :-)

One of the most irritating things for me is the time it takes to do a scan of sources.

I have 2 2tb HDD's and to scan them both fully, which I did the other day, took around 4 hours. Not a ton of new stuff was added either, was 1 season of a show, maybe 5 movies & 5 eps of misc tv shows.

It's been brought up countless times that there should be a way to mark a show as complete or w/e but nothing has been done yet.

The whole LiveTV thing still leaves me scratching my head. This is a niche in a niche market. PC-tech based TV Tuners suck. All of them. Compare them honestly to the dedicated TV Tuner in any TV and they get whipped. Usually they change channels slowly, with black/drop outs as they switch. Who really wants this? A boxee user who finds changing inputs annoying--or is using a LCD Monitor with their boxee. It's not like DVR functions came with it. SO of all the Boxee customers, I'd bet less than 5% of them would have any interest in the TV Tuner.

A niche add-on for a niche product... any time they spent on this was a waste of corporate resources. Someone's ego is getting in the way of their business model.

Meanwhile they drop the software and are messing up the hardware box. I agree that this product looks like it is dying. After the summer, if nothing has changed, I will be looking at what else the market offers to play and catalog a home library. A shame.
