Default Is Boxee Dying a Slow Death?

Gotta admit I have little confidence or excitement in Boxee lately. No hd audio fix on horizon. Avner's recent two interviews were downers. Blog hasn't had anything exciting to mention in months (hot dog and road trip news are of zero interest to me). No firmware updates since 3/5. Does Boxee have anything up its sleeve?

Okay... Team Boxee comes out with firmware approximately every 3 months... it hasn't been three months yet so relax on the firmware already folks.

This blog is used for community support and release information WHEN IT'S AVAILABLE. They don't have a schedule of app releases... they are trying to find if groups are interested in making apps on their platform.

I think you're addicted to blogging. You should really find a forum where you can discuss what is on your mind to fulfill your blogging and reading needs my friend.

Asking a question to which no one can or would provide an answer to is irrelevent and a waste of time. I'm just trying to save you from struggling or getting upset about high expectations with Team Boxee... it is what it is my friend.

P.S. I wouldn't use Avner as a marker for how "lively" things are in Boxee world either... reading into what he is doing is a bad way to read into Boxee agenda at any time.

I know... surprising most folks don't know firmware is every 3 months, but when people keep asking about it over and over again, someone's gotta speak up!

I would have to disagree with the OP. Boxee is dying a quick death in my opinion.
Look what they go for on Ebay, and then look for what the ATV2 goes for. The ATV2 goes for double of what the Boxee goes for and only has half the features built in. I admit the price is because of what can be accomplished with a jailbroken ATV2 but still. Boxee should be dominating if only it got the support it deserves. I'm getting out of the Boxee game, atleast with my Box anyway. I'm selling it and building an XBMC system. For $160 all included I can build a HD ready media pc with XBMC, navi-x, and even boxee. All im buying is a board with integrated cpu, the ram, and a case with power supply. The only thing I am not buying is storage, I will use USB sticks for now. No more worrying about updates or bug fixes thats for sure.

Got to admit I don't think boxee is doing all that great now. You only have to read various forums and you read bad things about it and their customer service. I mean seriously why does it take this long to sort the hd audio issue. Why do t they realise that until they sort it, no many people are going to touch the product with a barge pole. They are literally cutting their nose off to spite their face. I think they are not working hard enough to solve the problem.
What's frustrating is this product could have walked all over the other media players out there if the product support was to match.
I think it won't be long and the product will be dead; it has fallen behind in a big way. That is just my opinion anyway.
