    Default So much buffering!

So I just got the boxee and I've been having some buffering issues.

So, I set up hanenfs as per some recommendations on these forums. I'm still having issues with 1.5GHz 720p TV shows buffering every minute or so. Whether or not I have my usenet client downloading at around 500KB/s, it doesn't make much of a difference at all.

I'm not sure what a 1.5GHz 720p file is... but if you're using a wireless connection than that is likely the source of your buffering. Wireless can be flaky based on a number of physical/electrical issues such as distance, physical obstacles (walls, floors), and interference from other devices and crowded channels (have you tried switching channels?)

Personally, the WAP I have set up for Boxee is in the same room (ISP router and other WAP is at the other end of my house -- a 3 bdrm ranch) and I don't have any buffering, ever.

(Yes, I would do wired but the Box is located physically across the room from the ethernet outlet, sigh).

Sorry, I meant 1.5GB 720P files (I'm sure you guessed that).

I'm running a DIR-601 router which should handle 150kbs. There is no other network traffic and the router is in the same room. I am in the same position and cannot wire it.

Are you sure your 720p files are under 150kb/s? I looked at two of mine and one was 2,800kb/s and the other was over 3,200kb/s

Also, a connection rate is NOT the same as a speed rate.

Also, have you tried changing channels?
