    Default Film Titles Identify

    Hi,

I've just added some DVD's to the My Movies, streaming from my Win 7 laptop. It found the first DVD ok when I ran identify but not the next 2. One is Aliens so would have expected it to be ok.

Does anyone have any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Also, where does it search for titles and images?

    Thanks

As always, please post the exact file names you're trying to identify. Without filenames, it's hard to say what might be wrong.

Generally, you want the title as it is at imdb.com and to include the year in parentheses, e.g.

    Aliens (1986).mkv

(or whatever your file extension is)

See this for complete info: http://support.boxee.tv/entries/3252...ng-conventions

Last but not least, what happens when you try to manually identify these items?

Should it work for m4v files?

Were those purchased from Apple's iTunes store? If so, those are not compatible with the Boxee Box (or any other third-party streamer).

Apple's DRM limits playback of purchased videos from the iTunes Store to Apple devices and Apple software.

Edit: Boxee compatible media formats are listed here:

Full story is, as mentioned in another post, I ripped my DVD's via handbrake. I saved them as m4v files and I am now wondering if I should have used the mkv format.

    Thanks again

    Looks like m4v is compatible.

Again, post the full filenames of both problem files and let us know what happens when you try to manually identify either.
