That's because the other 99.44% have moved on and accepted reality.
Since the flood of signatures of the early days seems to have been reduced to about 1 per day, what are we now going to do with this petition? Send it to Intel?
Boxee Box (latest firmware) connected with HDMI to Onkyo TX-SR606 and HDMI to Mitsubishi HC1100 projector. 106" Grandview Large Flat Screen Series and ELAC Starlet 7.1. Everything controlled with Harmony 1100 and Harmony RF Wireless Extender. (+ Manta TR1 USB IR-Reciever for Boxee Box)
Streaming wired thru D-Link DIR-655 (Hardware: A4/Firmware: 1.31EU) from server with Intel Pentium 4 Duo 3,4GHz and 4GB RAM running Windows 7 Ultimate on Seagate SATA-harddrives.
This petition is going to succeed...at proving to Intel why they don't need to bother releasing the new SDK.
Anyway, petition or no, this is not going to happen. Intel has abandoned the CE4100 and is not coming back. It's not a platform that will be forward and backward compatible either, it seems, i.e. firmware for one platform will not run on another, as is the case with x86 platforms.
We truly are facing some degree of obsolescence with our units. I found a YouTube video this weekend that required the newest version of Flash, and would not play on my Boxee Box for that reason. That, to me, is the beginning of the end for Boxee Box V1. Without ongoing Flash support, it's going to be hard to continue working with online sources of content.
@tronbrain uses Boxee Box hardware rev A2, with firmware V1.5.0.23735 <- CLICK ME to learn how to up or downgrade firmware.
Connected to a Panasonic Viera 32-inch LED TV in 1080p HD.
Hard-wired to Ethernet network via a D-Link DGS-2208 8-Port 10/100/1000 Desktop Switch.

Well not if everything goes html5 in the future. Then flash would be not needed. Prob in 3 years it will be their. As for the intel chip, yup they will never release anything they could care less about that product. Time for boxee2. I hope their is some incentive program for people with issues with v1. If after all with the petition, it would only be less than 1000 people!
1004 Signatures - Time to close the petition.
Thank you to everyone who signed.
